Since 1973

Talented people, doing creative work.

Discover the heart of creativity in Orange Park and North Central Florida. For more than 50 years, AGOP has been more than a group of artists — it's a vibrant, welcoming community of 138 active members where creativity thrives.

Our History

Five decades in the making

The Art Guild of Orange Park was founded in 1973 and has served the Northeast Florida arts community ever since — cultivating art with local professional artists and Guild members, and supporting the community through service projects and exhibits that help change the lives of people of all ages.

A home of our own: the Guild Gallery

After more than five decades of supporting and elevating professional artists, AGOP opened its long-awaited public art gallery at 440 McIntosh Ave, Orange Park, housed in the historic T.C. Miller School building. Built in 1938, the structure originally served as a segregated elementary school for Black children in Orange Park, named for Theresa Miller, a dedicated educator who served Clay County for more than 40 years. In recognition of its cultural and historical importance, the building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.

In 2021, the Town of Orange Park secured a $256,000 grant for restoration work at the T.C. Miller Center. Restoration — painting, repairs, lighting, bathroom improvements, window replacement, and stage access — was completed through 2022. In November 2025, construction of the gallery space wrapped, a security system was installed, and AGOP received the lease and keys. The Guild's official address changed to 440 McIntosh Avenue, Orange Park 32073, honoring the building's educational roots while creating a new space for artistic expression, community engagement, and cultural preservation.
